Registration Opening 7/13/09 Monday at 10am PST - Heads-up on 2009 Camp Registration Process Print E-mail
Greetings and Blessings,

We are honored and excited to share with you news that Entheon Village 2009 Camp Registration will finally be open tomorrow, Monday 7/13/09, at 10am PST!

This year's BM theme is EVOLUTION. That is exactly what EV is doing this year. We are headed up by a new crew, a strong guiding Council, and a kick-ass project management team. We are contracting, honing in on what we already know and improving just that...nothing more, nothing less. Humbled by our 2008 experience, we are eager to enter 2009 with wide-open ears and eyes that are willing to learn and adapt for the greater good of our community. We love you! We can't wait to register you! So please read on....

Please be prepared to pay for dues in full or your registration will not be approved. Beg, borrow, apply creative financing, etcetera. Make it happen! :) We are limiting ourselves to 250 Villagers this year, so time is of the essence. Please do not dilly-dally in your registration process. It is imperative that, if you are serious about camping with us, you put your energetic mark where you beautiful little mouth is. That is the only way we can ensure your spot in this year's camp. We are not willing to grow to 650 this year...that would only occur at the expense of the feeling of "community"...and we are not going there. ;) So, please register swiftly.

Here's a peek at what the registration process looks like. The links will not be live til tomorrow, though! But, please READ IN ITS ENTIRETY and be prepared to follow these instructions in the mañana.....see attached, below.

Another heads-up: tomorrow, at the beginning of the 2009 Registration Form, you will also be asked to review a list of Villager Expectations and write a short blurb on how you resonate with these expectations. The expectations are also attached, below-below.

AND, lastly, if you've already filled out the 2009 Form (30 of you have by accident) since July 1, 2009, you must re-fill it out as of tomorrow. Thanks!

Love,
Andrea Olson

SCHOLARSHIPS:

Every year Entheon provides scholarships to villagers with financial hardships. Scholarships are limited, and are granted based on work-trade (in addition to the work already required as a Villager in a service-based camp).

To apply, send a 1 page scholarship application to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it describing what you would like to do/bring to the camp, when you will arive, if you can stay late, etc. All applications are due by July 21st, and awards will be given by July 30th. We do not know how many scholarships we will be granting this year, so please only apply if you cannot afford the dues.

And, keep in mind, if you were to come to Burning Man alone, or with another camp where they don't have a meal plan, your groceries alone could reach $250-$300 including water and food and ice.....plus dues to pay for your camp's infrastructure/operations. So, paying $333 for EVERYTHING is, in our honest opinions, quite a great deal. :o)

<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3 Villager Expectations for 2009 <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

What Is Expected of Entheon Villagers This Year:

>To participate in a couple workshifts over the week. This is a service camp, and we only want villagers who want to experience the joy of helping us SURVIVE as a community...that means the basics: cooking, cleaning, running sound equipment if that's your thang, keeping good vibes in our audiences, etcetera. As we all pitch in, NO ONE gets overworked or burnt out. If you camp here, you will be expected to contribute to our collective communal effort.

>To commit 2-4 hours for Community Strike/MOOPing on Sunday and/or Monday after the Burn, in addition to your personal strike/MOOPing. If you can not stay for Strike, you must arrange to give alternate service in advance with one of our lead project managers (ie: work an extended camp set-up shift instead of striking). There are no exceptions to this rule, loves.

>To communicate - both sharing and listening - within the communication pods we are setting up (this could mean reading the white-board for updates, or sitting in a circle to check in, or chatting with your neighbor to see what's afoot, or gracefully receiving feedback about missing and rescheduling a shift, etcetera) (nothing excessive, only the pertinents folks).

>To bring one's own bowl, plate, utensils, and cup. If you don't have these, it will be hard to eat, as we won't have compostable dishware this year (we are not into creating more trash!).

>To pack-it-in, pack-it-out, regarding your own "extra" compostables, trash, and recycling. Anything prepared/eaten in the kitchen that you did not bring (anything but your own snacks and staples) will be composted/trashed/recycled at the kitchen's Mindful Waste Management station. Otherwise, bring some extra empty bio-bags and do what you've always had to do at BM.

>To participate in Arrivals/Placement by answering any requests Claudia's team may have about when you arrive, how many in your lil family, car-camping, etcetera, and on-playa, to allow us to show you to a large square within which to create a circle however you and neighbors choose, with your tents and cars.

>If you have a lecture/presentation/workshop/dance/healing art to share, to please gift that to either our Symposium or our Healing Yurt. We especially need female presenters! :)
